Forward Focus Education professional clerking and advisory service is designed to support school governors/trustees to properly discharge their statutory responsibilities and to operate an effective and efficient governing board. The service is tailored to meet the requirements of schools – you can elect to have support for governing/trust meetings only or choose a more bespoke offer to suit your individual needs. Ad-hoc cover or advice can be provided if long term support is not required.
The following package is available (or a bespoke package can be designed to suit your individual needs):
Professional Clerking Service :
This service includes :
1. An initial video meeting with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Chair of Trustees/Governors, the Principal/Head Teacher) to familiarise ourselves with your processes and agree meeting dates for the next 12 months;
2. Virtual attendance at up to 9 full governing board and/or subcommittee meetings per year of up to 2.5 hours and to advise on procedural matters relevant to meetings. Where an issue requires further research, or an answer is not immediately available, the clerk will provide an answer within 2 working days;
3. Production of accurate minutes circulated to the Chair of Trustees/governors, CEO and Headteacher within 10 working days of the meeting;
4. Access to Governor Hub and Governor Hub Knowledge for agendas, minutes, governance planner, statutory documents, training records etc;
5. Co-ordinating with the Chair of the board/trust, drafting and circulating agendas for up to 9 meetings per year;
6. Record keeping: including governing body constitution, governor appointments, terms of office, committee memberships, specialist roles and pecuniary interests, annual governor attendance and other governance related documentation.
The cost for the above service for 12 months is: £2820
Additional advice and support relating to matters that arise outside of the meetings and is not covered by any of the above can be provided and will be charged at an hourly rate of £35 per hour
Face to face attendance at 3 full board meetings per year will incur an additional charge of £180.
